Classroom expansion

Classroom+expansion

By Nicholas Fields, Staff Writer

Over the summer, Shalhevet’s custodial staff expanded Room 216 by the Genius Bar to hold 16-18 desks to 28. They did this by breaking down the wall behind the tech department and building a new one further out into the hall, shrinking the tech space and increasing the size of the classroom to 22 feet by 8 feet.

Executive Director Sarah Emerson said students would also now be able to move the furniture around to collaborate more effectively. The tech desk, where students charge their devices and ask IT director Mr. Robert Meszaros for help with computer and software issues, is not moving but will occupy a smaller space because of the expansion.
